This is coke coming directly from one of the
batteries. This means that the coal hast just spent some time at high
temperature, so that the volatile parts pass away and nearly pure carbon remains.
When the so called coking finished the glowing coke is pressed out of the
battery. I please you to forgive me the very simple description, but I know
mining a bit better than coking.
