This is the total view of the pit bank. Behind
the two gratings on the left the pit cages transport material, miners etc. to
the sixth level (-970 metres) and on the right to the seventh level at -1120
metres - the speed of the vertical transportation is about ten metres per
second, approx. 36 km/h.
In this photo you can see quite well that the
ends of the rails at the shaft are lifted up in order to prevent mine
cars from breaking through the gratings and falling down the shaft.
